Back on Track

The last few days have been rough. Hell the last few weeks.

But I'm trying to put that behind me. Even though my last client canceled out on me at the last minute I have 2 more shoots coming up in August. One is with Sam. She's one of my favorite models. Corwin may or may not participate. I don't know how he'll feel about it. The other shoot is the annual Green Corn Pow Wow, known as Schemitzun.

I started covering this event in 2003 and my work is still used in their advertising, banners and website. There is a sense of pride in that. Despite hiring other photographers and getting "free" images, they still turn the archives of my work for what they need.

In past years I've taken the images and then turned them over to the tribe. They used them in advertising for the event and have them displayed in Foxwoods Resort Casino, which is owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

Often people have come up to me asking for copies of the images. But my contract with the Tribe stated that the tribe had sole use. So I couldn't, as much as I wanted to, share the pictures with the people who wanted them. This year I will be posting the images on my photo portal so that the participants will be able to purchase prints for their own personal use. I'm very excited about finally being able to let the participants have prints of the images.
