Reflected in You by Sylvia Day

I'm not exactly sure how I keep getting sucked into this series. It's a quick easy read and continues the saga of Eva, the high maintenance nightmare, and Gideon, the oversexed and obsessive CEO. The book takes a weird turn in the second 1/2 as it attempts to go from Bodice Ripper to Mystery/Crime drama in which Eva is left very confused because, like all lead male characters with histories of abuse and control issues, Gideon won't trust Eva. In the end, I understand what the author was going for but I think that she should have stuck with the original intent of the book. Trying to change genres midstream is very hard to pull off at all, let alone do it well.

I also had a hard time with the fact that no one seems to trust Eva in this book. Even though she's supposed to be a strong, alpha female, survivor type no one will tell her that she's in danger and instead keep the whole thing a secret even after the police come knocking on her door.

I don't know if I'll read the next book or not. By the end of this one, the sex scenes were getting boring and the characters were predictably dull.
