Day 64 Pequot Memorial

Today was different.  The day after Memorial Day is a tribal holiday of sorts. It's the date of the Pequot massacre, at the end of which CT governor,  John Winthrop, declared that the tribe no longer existed.
Needless to say he was wrong. They continued to survive and eventually the state created two reservations, with the thought that a separated tribe would be easier to control.
Every year the tribe gives office employees the day of to remember the massacre and to reflect on everything that has transpired since.
